Tennessee will kick off spring football practices March 16.
Following the Vols’ 2025 season, Michael Hunter Jr. was announced as Tennessee’s cornerbacks coach. He was an assistant defensive backs coach at Ohio State from 2024-25.
Hunter Jr. is expected to be hired by the Rams in the NFL, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.
“The Rams are expected to hire Tennessee’s Michael Hunter as a defensive backs coach, sources tell CBS Sports,” Zenitz announced Tuesday. “The ex-NFL defensive back was assistant defensive backs coach at Ohio State the last two years before Tennessee.”
Tennessee’s annual Orange & White Game will be contested April 11 at Neyland Stadium with admission being free. Additional game day information, including a start time, will be announced at a later date.
The Vols will open their 2026 football season on Sept. 5 versus Furman at Neyland Stadium. 2026 will be the sixth season for Tennessee with Josh Heupel as head coach.
