The NCAA college football transfer portal opened Jan. 2, and Louisiana football has already seen movement.
After posting a 6-7 overall record, and ending the 2025 season on a sour note, head coach Michael Desormeaux and his staff are eager to turn the page. Doing so will require a roster rebuild with eight players entering the transfer portal and a handful of players graduating.
Among them are key offensive pieces, including offensive lineman Bryant Williams and starting running backs Zylan Perry and Bill Davis. Davis, who led the Ragin’ Cajuns’ rushing attack, has found a new home at the Power Four level, committing to Virginia Tech on Jan. 4.
On the flip side, Louisiana has yet to secure an incoming transfer but identified targets who could address needs along both the offensive and defensive lines.
Here are some transfer portal prospects Desormeaux and his staff are targeting during the current portal window, which remains open through Jan. 16.
Florida State’s Mario Nash Jr.
Listed at 6-foot-5, 305 pounds, Nash is one of two offensive linemen Louisiana has offered so far. A former four-star recruit, Nash signed with Florida State after being ranked the No. 14 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class by 247Sports. He has four years of eligibility remaining.
Harding’s Joseph Oluwayemi
Listed at 6-foot-2, 300 pounds, Oluwayemi is a key defensive tackle target. In two seasons at Harding, he appeared in 30 games and recorded 41 total tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks. He earned first-team Great American Conference honors in 2025 and has two years of eligibility remaining.
Harding’s Nii Addy
Addy is the second Harding transfer Louisiana has offered. Listed at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds, he is another defensive tackle on the Cajuns’ radar. Over two seasons, Addy totaled 30 tackles and 5.5 tackles for loss, earning second-team GAC honors in 2025. He also has two years of eligibility remaining.
North Carolina Central’s Donquarius Parker
Louisiana has also offered Parker, an outside linebacker/edge rusher from North Carolina Central. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound defender finished the season with 41 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks, earning second-team Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference honors.
Oklahoma State’s Tyler Brumfield
The second offensive lineman offered by the Cajuns is Brumfield, a former junior college standout. Listed at 6-foot-6, 315 pounds, Brumfield was a first-team JUCO All-American at Snow College in 2023 before transferring to Oklahoma State, where he spent two seasons. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
