LSU football added a handful of commits to its 2027 recruiting class in recent days, but the Tigers got busy on their 2028 recruiting class. Offensive tackle Isaiah Whitehead committed to the Tigers, giving LSU its first commitment of the class.
Isaiah Whitehead is the younger brother of LSU commit Chris Whitehead, a four-star defensive end in the 2027 recruiting class. After Chris pledged to LSU, it didn't take Isaiah long to follow in his footsteps.
Per the Rivals Industry Rankings, Whitehead is the No. 410-ranked player in the class. He's No. 38 at his position and No. 7 in the state of Virginia. 247Sports ranks Whitehead as the No. 34 tackle in the class.
Whitehead chose LSU over other top SEC offers, including South Carolina and Tennessee. There's a long way to go before the 2028 class begins to take shape, and LSU is in the middle of building out its 2027 group, but it's never too late to start looking ahead.
