LSU football tinkered with its offensive line in the second half of the Alabama game. LSU made a change at right tackle, inserting Ory Williams for Weston Davis.

Davis' 2025 struggles have been well documented. The five-star recruit is in year one as a starter and the inexperience has shown. Previous head coach Brian Kelly affirmed Davis' status as the starter, but with Kelly out, LSU is open to competition.

Williams was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024, ranking as the No. 30 offensive tackle in the country per the Rivals Industry Rankings. Saturday was the first time Williams saw action in a competitive game.

In 24 pass pro snaps, Williams didn't surrender a single pressure. It's worth noting LSU was doing some things schematically to help Williams out, but he wasn't a major liability. In the run game, Williams size and power were evident, even if the fundamentals were raw.

"It was good to see big Ory get out there. He's a mammoth of a man, right?," LSU interim head coach Frank Wilson said.

Wilson said he thought Williams did a good job, but LSU hasn't decided on who will get the start vs. Arkansas.

LSU's offensive line has been subpar in 2025. The unit had five new starters, including two transfers, and didn't gel like LSU had hoped. It's held the offense back, making it hard to run the ball and protect QB Garrett Nussmeier. As LSU continues to look for solutions, giving Williams a chance might not be a bad idea.
