Former Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Tee Martin is headed to Baton Rouge to be an offensive analyst, reuniting with LSU football head coach Lane Kiffin, per NFL reporter Jordan Schultz. Martin has spent the past five years coaching at the professional level, coaching the Ravens’ wide receivers for two seasons and quarterbacks for three.
Martin is well-known for his two seasons as Tennessee’s starting quarterback in 1998 and 1999, leading the Volunteers to a 22-3 record and a BCS national championship in ’98. His playing career didn’t see much success at the professional level, as he spent a few seasons in the NFL and a couple more in the CFL and EFL.
Martin began coaching in 2006, including stops at New Mexico, Kentucky, USC, and Tennessee. He was part of Kiffin’s staff at USC for two seasons in 2012 and 2013, and he remained on the staff for a few more after Kiffin was fired. Now, he’s rejoining Kiffin at LSU, where he will coach up the Tigers’ all-new quarterback room.
Martin’s recent experience with Lamar Jackson, who has won two MVPs and made three All-Pro teams in his career in Baltimore, should be a real asset for the Tigers.
