Lane Kiffin is bringing a familiar face back to LSU football. According to On3's Pete Nakos, LSU is expected to add James Cregg to its coaching staff.
Cregg served on Ed Orgeron's LSU staff from 2017 until he was unexpectedly let go in 2021. Cregg spent this season working on Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss and will finish the season with the Rebels before heading to Baton Rouge.
Cregg was LSU's offensive line coach in 2019, when the unit won the Joe Moore award as part of LSU's 15-0 national championship squad.
Cregg's exact role with LSU is unclear, but he'll likely be the assistant offensive line coach in an analyst role, working with new LSU offensive line coach Eric Wolford.
Kiffin and Cregg have an established relationship and have worked together at multiple stops. Cregg was on Kiffin's staff with the Oakland Raiders and later worked under Kiffin at Tennessee, USC, and Ole Miss.
LSU is currently expected to bring back OL assistant James Cregg following the end of the Ole Miss season, sources tell @On3sports.

Cregg has extensive NFL experience. Along with his stint with the Raiders, Cregg worked with the Broncos and Chargers. Cregg played college football at Colorado State from 1992-95. Colorado State is also where Cregg got his start in coaching, working as a graduate assistant.
