LSU football missed on a five-star defensive end on Tuesday. Abraham Sesay committed to Notre Dame, picking the Fighting Irish over the Tigers.

Rivals and 247Sports both consider Sesay a five-star, with Rivals being the highest, slotting Sesay as the No. 16 overall prospect. ESPN isn't as high on the pass rusher, ranking Sesay No. 145 overall and No. 18 at his position.

Sesay visited LSU in May after the Tigers popped up on the radar this spring. LSU made a strong push, but it wasn't enough to keep Sesay away from Notre Dame.

Rivals' Charles Power wrote that Sesay was, "a twitchy, fluid mover who looks to have the movement patterns suited for bending around the edge. Loose and flexible in his lower body. Flashes good first step quickness and easily converts speed to power. Punches above his weight from a power perspective and is capable of walking offensive tackles back to the quarterback with his bull rush."

LSU was always behind the eight ball in this race. Still, the Tigers have been red hot on the recruiting trail in recent weeks, which includes securing five-star defensive end KJ Green.
