LSU football continues to hit the recruiting trail hard to build its 2027 class. Head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff are working to get in their final road visits of the spring contact period, before official visit season heats up in earnest.

Offensive line coach Eric Wolford took a trip to Cincinnati, OH to check in with Kal-El Johnson, according to a social media post of the pair on Wednesday. LSU continues its pursuit of Johnson and pushes for his commitment.

Johnson, who plays high school football at Archbishop Moeller, stands at six-foot-six and 305 pounds. Rivals' Industry Rankings has him at No. 19 among offensive tackles and No. 9 out of Ohio. Rivals is the highest on Johnson, with Rivals' scouts slotting Johnson No. 17 at his position.

Johnson made a trip to Baton Rouge in late March but continues to draw the attention of LSU's staff. Rivals lists Georgia Tech as the favorite to land his commitment, but the Tigers have time to make a push. Ohio State is also in play for the Ohio native.

LSU's 2027 recruiting class currently ranks No. 10 in the nation, per Rivals' Industry Rankings. LSU hopes to contend for the sport's top-ranked recruiting class.
