LSU football sustained one big injury to running back Dilin Jones against Ole Miss. But tight end Trey’Dez Green created more concerns for the Tigers during their late game rally.
The tight end appeared to absorb a hit to the abdominal area. He stayed down on the field momentarily before needing to get helped off the field. Turns out it wasn’t Green’s midsection that was ailing. He walked off with a right leg injury, per college football insider for On3 Pete Nakos.
And his injury came with LSU erasing a 24-7 deficit and tying the game up 24-all. Green caught four passes for 60 yards up until that injury. He wasn’t on the field when Ole Miss responded to a Scott Starzyk field goal that tied the game up in Oxford.

Saturday’s game featured the return of Lane Kiffin to Oxford. Kiffin’s presence drew out a heavier-than-usual law enforcement presence, though. All because of the controversial way he left Ole Miss.
Ole Miss lost its head coach to a longtime SEC rival before the College Football Playoffs. And the Rebels were putting together their first-ever run to the 12-team playoffs with Kiffin leading the team. But Kiffin accepted LSU’s blockbuster $90 million deal in late November. Pete Golding eventually guided his Rebels to a deep postseason run that saw Ole Miss finish as one of the final four remaining teams in the postseason.
Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, meanwhile, ignited new fireworks after the Green injury. He scrambled 14 yards up his left side to break the late tie. Ole Miss later attempted the two-point conversion, and scored on the direct running back snap to JT Lindsey to make it 32-24 with under 6:15 left.
