LSU cornerback DJ Pickett was selected to the SEC Coaches' Freshman All-SEC team, announced Thursday. He made two starts and played in every game during his first season in Baton Rouge.

In 2025, Pickett finished the regular season with 30 tackles, five pass deflections, three interceptions, two pass breakups and two sacks. He was effective when utilized in blitz packages while also locking down on opposing wide receivers.

Standing at six-foot-five and 195 pounds, Pickett provided matchup problems for offenses to deal with. He came into Baton Rouge with a five-star rating as the top cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. He ranked as high as No. 6 overall by On3.

Pickett posted a 79.3 PFF defensive grade — that was the best mark in the country among qualified true freshman cornerbacks. Pickett was targeted 31 times and allowed an NFL passer rating of 38.8, an elite mark.
