It's preview season. With the college football season just a couple of months away, Phil Steele has officially released his 2026 college football preview.
Included are Steele's All-SEC projections and just one LSU football player made Steele's All-SEC first-team — LSU tight end Trey'Dez Green. The nod for Green comes as no surprise. The 6-foot-7 tight end is expected to be among the best pass catchers in the SEC and a potential first-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft.
Green carved out a full-time role as a sophomore in 2025, catching 33 passes for 433 yards. Green led all SEC tight ends with seven touchdowns. Green's 77.6 PFF receiving grade ranked No. 3 among SEC tight ends.
Hopes are high for what Green can do in Lane Kiffin's offense. It's rare to find an athlete with Green's combination of size and speed. Kiffin and staff will make Green a priority and will find creative ways to get the big tight end involved.
