BATON ROUGE — While LSU football did not land any transfers out of the transfer portal on opening day Friday but new LSU coach Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff got the ball rolling on various prospects they’ll evaulate.
LSU is set to host or working on hosting a number of highly sought-after transfers over the coming days, headlined by Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby, who reportedly will be in Baton Rouge sometime this weekend following a visit to Texas Tech.
All 18 of the LSU players that announced prior to the portal opening that they intended to put their name did in fact officially do so. Sophomore wide receiver Kyle Parker and a pair of offensive linemen in Tyree Adams and Carius Curne are the biggest names the Tigers have lost to this early in the process.

LSU football in running for top defensive transfer from Penn State
On3’s Steve Wiltfong reports that LSU is one of the early leading candidates to possibly land Penn State edge rusher transfer Chaz Coleman. Ohio State and Tennessee is also in the mix.
Currently, Coleman is the top rated defensive end in the transfer portal according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 2 overall player available.
