BATON ROUGE — College football teams are currently in the midst of a dead period for recruiting in this transfer portal window. That means no coaches and programs hosting players looking for their next college.

While players haven’t been able to visit LSU football since Monday, and can’t come to Baton Rouge until Thursday, that hasn’t stopped new Tigers coach Lane Kiffin and his coaching staff from making some moves.

Tuesday’s news on the portal front included LSU landing Wisconsin freshman running back Dilin Jones, an addition that fortifies the backfield for the Tigers for the 2026 season. That was the only commitment LSU garnered.

Kiffin is also lining up a visit for when the dead period lifts later this week. Colorado sophomore quarterback Ryan Staub is expected to be in town later this week.

Colorado transfer QB Ryan Staub is set to visit LSU football

After the transfer portal recruiting dead period ends Wednesday, LSU football will welcome in Colorado transfer quarterback Ryan Staub for a visit later in the week, per multiple reports.

It has been known that LSU coach Lane Kiffin has wanted to add a third quarterback from the portal after landing Arizona State’s Sam Leavitt and Elon’s Landen Clark over the last couple of days.

Staub had to play in a couple of games for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes this past season due to an injury to QB Kaidon Salter. He went up 427 passing yards with three touchdowns and four interceptions in three-plus games of action. He had two years of eligibility left.

LSU football adds Wisconsin RB from transfer portal

Freshman Wisconsin running back Dilin Jones has committed to LSU, per multiple reports. The addition fortifies the Tigers’ tailback room and depth that starts with returners Harlem Berry and Caden Durham back.

Jones opened 2025 as the Badgers starting running back but fell down the depth chart. He has three seasons of eligibility remaining. Jones ended last year with 76 carries for 300 yards with two touchdowns.

Caden Durham withdraws from transfer portal, returns to LSU football

A couple of days after meeting with new running backs coach Kevin Smith for the first time, LSU tailback Caden Durham has decided to withdraw his name from the transfer portal and return to the Tigers.

LSU’s top one-two punch in the backfield of Harlem Berry and Durham is back together. Durham was in the portal for nearly a week and while he had conversations with other programs, he ultimately decided he had “unfinished business” at LSU, according to his announcement of his return to Baton Rouge.

LSU football loses freshman safety to transfer portal

LSU football freshman safety Jacob Bradford has entered the transfer portal, per a CBS Sports report.

Bradford did not appear in any games for the Tigers in 2025. The former four-star recruit from Baton Rouge will have four years of eligibility remaining.

LSU football expected to land Arizona State transfer QB Sam Leavitt

Lane Kiffin finally got his guy. Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt is expected to commit and sign to LSU football.

Leavitt visited LSU late last week. During his multi-day visit, he was seen courtside at a men’s basketball game with Kiffin, current senior linebacker Whit Weeks and Florida transfer wide receiver Eugene Wilson. This would be a massive recruiting win for the Tigers as they will have outlasted Miami and Tennessee for Leavitt’s services.

LSU football adds Troy transfer wide receiver Roman Mothershed

The count is now up to eight wide receiver transfers for LSU football in this transfer portal window. Troy wide out Roman Mothershed has signed with the Tigers, the program announced Monday morning.

At 6-5, 207, Mothershed a big target on the perimeter and as a sophomore for the Trojans, he grabbed 25 catches for 259 yard and a touchdown in 2025.

LSU football lands Kentucky OL transfer Darin Strey

Kentucky offensive tackle Darrin Strey has committed to LSU football, the program announced Monday morning.

LSU badly needs help at the tackles spots on the offensive line and adding Strey is exactly what the doctor ordered for Lane Kiffin and LSU’s offense. Strey follows new LSU offensive line coach Eric Wolford to the Tigers.

Strey had four years of eligibility left.

Ole Miss transfer WR signs with LSU football

The first player to follow Lane Kiffin from Ole Miss to LSU is Rebels freshman wide receiver Winston Watkins. The 6-2, 185-pound player is fresh off a College Football Playoff semifinal run with Ole Miss. In the semifinal matchup with Miami, Watkins caught one pass for 3 yards.

Watkins and Kiffin obviously have a deep, established connection and the expectation is that’ll only flourish more with the two back together in Baton Rouge.

Lane Kiffin, LSU lands Elon transfer quarterback Landen Clark

The wait for a quarterback in this transfer portal class is finally over for LSU football fans.

Lane Kiffin and his staff have landed Elon transfer quarterback Landen Clark out of the transfer portal Sunday night. Clark announced his commitment to LSU via his social media pages.

As a freshman, Clark was sensation for the Phoenix, throwing for 2,321 yards, 18 touchdowns with eight interceptions.

LSU football lands South Alabama edge rusher Achilles Woods

LSU football is bringing more help for its defensive front. Lane Kiffin and his defensive staff gained a commitment from South Alabama edge rusher Achilles Woods Sunday, his agents announced via X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

During his freshman season with the Jaguars in 2025, Woods had 11 tackles, including a sack. Woods has three years of eligibility left.

Lane Kiffin, LSU football host Ole Miss transfer WR for visit

Ole Miss transfer wide receiver Winston Watkins Jr. is in Baton Rouge for a visit to LSU Sunday. He confirmed his visit on his social media accounts.

Watkins obviously already has a relationship with Kiffin as he recruited the wide out to Oxford. In his freshman season with the Rebels, Watkins piled up 26 receptions for 373 yards and a touchdown.

USC transfer quarterback Husan Longstreet is visiting LSU football

Per multiple reports, LSU is hosting USC transfer quarterback Husan Longstreet Saturday night.

The freshman is a former five-star recruit. This season, he played in four games for the Trojans, completing 13 of 15 passes for 103 yards with a touchdowns. He also ran 11 times for 76 yards and two scores.

Lane Kiffin and LSU have been searching for a quarterback out of the portal since it opened last week. The expectation is that Kiffin adds two signal callers. LSU is still pursuing Arizona State quarterback Sam Leavitt.

LSU football OL reserve plans to enter transfer portal

LSU freshman offensive lineman Tyler Miller is planning to enter his name in the transfer portal, per CBS Sports.

Miller was a four-star prospect in the 2025 class but he did not appear in a game this past season.

Lane Kiffin, LSU football trying to get Caden Durham to return

Per multiple reports, LSU is trying to persuade sophomore running back Caden Durham to return to the program. Durham entered his name into the transfer portal back on Jan 3. The two are reportedly meeting today.

In two seasons with the Tigers, the shifty tailback has amassed 1,609 total yards from scrimmage with nine touchdowns.

LSU football signs West Florida WR transfer Tyree Holloway

It’s been a couple of days since his visit but LSU football made a lasting impression on Tyree Holloway. Enough so that he signed with the Tigers Saturday, the program announced.

This now gives LSU eight wide receiver signees and commits to this year’s transfer portal class. At West Florida last season, Holloway put up 661 yards and eight touchdowns on 34 receptions.

Tennessee transfer OL commits to LSU football, Lane Kiffin

Another hot start to the day for Lane Kiffin and LSU football as they land Tennessee freshman offensive lineman transfer William Satterwhite Saturday morning. Satterwhite announced his commitment to LSU on his Instagram page.

Satterwhite played in eight games for the Vols last season at center and that’s a position that the Tigers need a lot of depth. This is a big get for Kiffin and company.

LSU football adds Southern DB transfer Treylan James

It’s been a few days since LSU football dipped into the defensive secondary transfer portal market, but that’s no longer the case as Lane Kiffin and company earn a commitment from Southern defensive back transfer Treylan James.

James has two years of eligibility left. During his sophomore season with the Jaguars, he tallied 26 tackles, five passes defended and a forced fumble.

Florida State transfer OL, Mississippi State commit visiting LSU football

Despite committing to Mississippi State Tuesday, Florida State transfer offensive lineman Mario Nash is in town for a visit, per multiple reports.

LSU still needs offensive line badly, and Nash is currently rated the No. 32 offensive tackle player in the transfer portal, according to the 247Sports Composite.

LSU football lands McNeese State transfer receiver Josh Jackson

Another one. DJ Khaled might be providing the soundtrack for LSU football’s transfer portal haul with Lane Kiffin orchestrating things. LSU continues to add wide receivers out of the transfer portal.

That number is up to six now as McNeese State transfer wide out Josh Jackson has committed to the Tigers, per multiple reports. Jackson has three years of eligibility remaining.

Last season as a freshman with the Cowboys, the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder put up 258 receiving yards.

LSU football lands Illinois transfer wide receiver Malik Elzy

One day after visiting LSU and Baton Rouge, Illinois transfer wide receiver Malik Elzy has committed to play for the Tigers. He announced his decision via his Instagram page.

The junior played three seasons for the Fighting Illini and had 16 catches for 213 yards with four touchdowns. He only played in nine games while at Illinois, and he left the team this past September and could have as many as three years of eligibility remaining.

LSU football loses freshman OL to transfer portal

Freshman reserve offensive lineman Khayree Lee entered the transfer portal and has announced his commitment to South Alabama.

Lee did not play during his two seasons with the Tigers.

Tennessee transfer edge rusher Jordan Ross commits to LSU football

Lane Kiffin and LSU are starting off this Friday with a bang as they have landed Tennessee edge rusher Jordan Ross from the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. Ross was a name high on Kiffin and defensive coordinator Blake Baker’s board, and they sealed the deal with him.

Ross was a freshman All-SEC performer in 2025. He finished his freshman campaign in Knoxville with 23 tackles, including 1.5 sacks. Ross was a former top defensive end in his recruiting class in 2024.

LSU football gets commitment from top JUCO OL prospect

Louisiana native and Copiah-Lincoln product JaKolby Jones announced his commitment to LSU football Thursday night.

Jones’ commitment is the second offensive lineman to pledge to LSU and Lane Kiffin Thursday, the first being North Carolina-Central’s Ja’Quan Sprinkle.

Demond Williams staying at Washington, LSU football out of running

Washington quarterback Demond Williams, in whom LSU was interested had he entered the transfer portal, has decided to stay put. He put out a statement saying, “after thoughtful reflection with my family, I am excited to announce that I will continue my football journey at the University of Washington.”

Williams had already signed a new NIL deal to return, then a couple of days later said that he wanted to enter the transfer portal. Washington pushed back in his entering the portal, and ultimately, the quarterback opted to remain at Washington.

LSU football hosted Illinois transfer wide receiver

Per multiple reports, LSU football had Illinois transfer wide receiver Malik Elzy on campus Thursday. LSU has already landed four receivers out of the transfer portal so far, but Lane Kiffin believes more help is needed at the position.

Elzy left the Illinois football team in September. In the three seasons he spent with the Fightin’ Illini, Elzy recorded 16 receptions for 213 yards with two touchdowns.

Lane Kiffin, LSU football finally land an OL transfer

The wait is over. LSU football and Lane Kiffin have finally brough in an offensive lineman out of the transfer portal on day seven of the portal window.

North Carolina Central’s Ja’Quan Sprinkle has committed to the Tigers Thursday. The 6-3, 295-pounder has two years of eligibility remaining. Sprinkle played 27 games at NC-Central, where he mostly played tackle, but he could project to play some interior offensive line at this level.

Alabama transfer OL visiting LSU football Thursday

Former Alabama offensive lineman Micah DeBose is in Baton Rouge to visit LSU football today. LSU’s former coaching staff recruited DeBose out of high school and he visited then so he has some familiarity with the program.

LSU needs offensive linemen in a bad way as they haven’t added any out of the transfer portal yet. As it stands, DeBose is currently a top 20 interior offensive lineman in the portal.

Promising young LSU football DL plans to enter transfer portal

Four days after the program announced he would be returning for his sophomore season, LSU defensive lineman Walter Mathis has announced his intention of entering his name into the transfer portal.

As his freshman season rolled along, Mathis garnered more and more playing time for himself. The 6-2, 285-pound defensive tackle finished the 2025 season with nine tackles, a pass breakup and pass defended. Mathis appeared set to assume a much larger role in LSU’s defense going forward but now he plans to move on.

LSU football earns commitment from South Carolina edge rusher Jaylen Brown

The stacking of the defensive line transfer continues Thursday as LSU grabs another edge rusher out of the transfer portal in South Carolina defensive end Jaylen Brown, per multiple reports.

Brown spent this past season with the Gamecocks after signing with Missouri of high school. He missed the entire 2025 season after having knee surgery in the spring. He has three years of eligibility left.

Auburn DL transfer Malik Blocton commits to LSU football, Lane Kiffin

Lane Kiffin and company are dipping back onto the defensive side out of the transfer portal Thursday morning by snagging a commitment from Auburn sophomore defensive lineman Malik Blocton, who announced his commitment via his social media pages.

LSU now has two players to help fill out depth along the defensive line and defensive front. Blocton comes to Baton Rouge with plenty of SEC experience having played at Auburn the last two seasons, tallying up 33 tackles, including two sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss. He garnered eight starts in 2025 and had 4.5 tackles for loss this past season.

Arkansas kicker Scott Starzyk signs with LSU football

LSU had a hole at place kicker with the departures of Damian Ramos to graduation and Aeron Burrel to the transfer portal. Lane Kiffin filled that void on the team with Arkansas freshman transfer kicker Scot Starzyk.

In his first season kicking in college, Starzyk had a steady and solid freshman campaign with Arkansas in 2025, going 14 of 18 on field goals including going 2 of 3 on kicks 50-plus yards with a long of 53. He made all 47 of his PATs.

LSU football adds Florida transfer long snapper Mack Mulhern

LSU football announced the signing of freshman Florida transfer long snapper Mack Mulhern Wednesday afternoon.

The Scottsdale, Arizona did not see any game action in 2025.

Tennessee transfer DE Jordan Ross visiting LSU football

Not only is Utah’s John Henry Daley in Baton Rouge for a visit, but Tennessee edge rusher Jordan Ross in also in town, per a report from On3.

Ross just entered his name into the transfer portal Tuesday and is checking out LSU 24 hours later. The sophomore pass rusher played in all 13 of Tennessee’s game this season, collecting 23 tackles, including 1.5 sacks with a fumble recovery and forced fumble.

Out of high school, Ross was a five-star prospect from Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Utah transfer DE John Henry Daley visiting LSU football

LSU still needs a lot more help on the defensive side of the ball and Utah defensive end John Henry Daley could certainly help the deficiencies that the Tigers currently have at the position.

Per multiple reports, Daley is currently in Baton Rouge on a visit. The 6-4, 247-pounder is currently rated the No. 3 available edge rusher in the transfer portal.

Daley recorded 11.5 sacks last season.

LSU football announced the signing of Florida freshman punter transfer Hayden Craig Wednesday.

LSU football hosting transfer portal WR Tyree Holloway today

Lane Kiffin and LSU are hosting West Florida transfer wide receiver Tyree Holloway today, per Holloway’s agent.

Despite LSU already landing four wide outs out of the portal, the program is still hunting more playmakers. Holloway put up 661 yards and eight touchdowns on 34 passes this past season.

Alabama transfer pair plan to visit LSU football

Two of the top ranked defensive players in the transfer portal, former Alabama players James Smith and Qua Russaw, are expected to visit LSU football, according to CBS Sports.

Ohio State, Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri are also in the mix for the pair of defensive lineman — Smith a defensive tackle and Russaw an edge rusher. It is unclear when Russaw and Smith will possibly visit Baton Rouge.

After adding four wide receivers out of the transfer portal the last few days, it appears UAB transfer receiver Iverson Hooks has turned his attention elsewhere.

Per ESPN, Hooks is taking a visit to Virginia today and to Arkansas Thursday.

Florida WR Eugene Wilson III commits to LSU football

Last night, Eugene Wilson III was sitting courtside at the LSU men’s basketball game with Lane Kiffin and Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt. Today, he is committing to the Tigers.

The Florida transfer wide receiver announced the move via his Instagram page Wednesday morning. Wilson has two years of eligibility remaining. In three seasons with the Gators, the 5-10, 190-pound speedster caught 107 passes for 1,043 yards with 10 touchdowns.

Wilson’s commitment now gives Kiffin and company four wide receivers out of the transfer portal.

Washington QB Demond Williams of interest to LSU football, Lane Kiffin

Multiple reports say that Lane Kiffin and LSU football are interested in Washington quarterback transfer Demond Williams Jr., who announced he was entering the transfer portal Tuesday night. Williams had already signed an NIL deal with Washington and reports say the school has “no intention of releasing him from the contract he signed.”

This will be a potential monumental case to watch if it indeed makes its way to the courts, which Washington seems to be OK with. But if Williams is able to transfer as he wishes, LSU could very well be a landing spot for him. Williams was once committed to Kiffin at Ole Miss before he decided to sign with Arizona.

LSU freshman offensive lineman Ethan Calloway entered his name into the transfer portal Tuesday.

The former four-star high school recruit did not see the field in two seasons with the Tigers.

Kansas State WR Jayce Brown commits to LSU football

Make it three wide receivers Lane Kiffin and LSU football have landed out of the transfer portal.

Kansas State junior wide out Jayce Brown announced his commitment to the Tigers via his Instagram page Tuesday night. LSU has already brought in a couple of deep threats and Brown helps fill the void Kiffin’s offense has in the intermediate and short routes.

Over the last two seasons, Brown has tallied 88 receptions, 1,532 yards and 10 touchdowns.

LSU football lands Charlotte RB Rod Gainey out of transfer portal

Charlotte running back Rod Gainey announced his via social media pages that he has committed to LSU football. His is the second tailback Lane Kiffin and LSU’s offensive staff have brought in from the portal joining Utah freshman Raycine Guillory.

As a freshman in 2025, Gainey rushed for 260 yards for the 49ers.

Clemson transfer DL Stephiylan Green commits to LSU football

And just like that, LSU has now pulled two of the top rated defensive players in the transfer portal. First it was Boise State’s Ty Benefield, now it’s Clemson defensive lineman Stephiylan Green who announced him commitment Tuesday.

Green chose LSU out of transfer portal over Texas A&M, USC and Miami. The sophomore adds much needed depth along the defensive front for the Tigers.

LSU football lands top safety transfer Ty Benefield

The first defensive domino has fallen for LSU football in this transfer portal window.

Boise State safety Ty Benefield has committed to the Tigers. His commitment swiftly follows his visit to Baton Rouge where he was one of the first defensive players brought on for a visit. The 6-2, 204-pounder was an all-conference performer in 2025 as he piled up 105 total tackles with two interceptions and a forced fumble.

This is a big get for Lane Kiffin and his staff.

Former LSU football tackle Carius Curne commits to Ole Miss

The trading between LSU and Ole Miss continues. Former LSU offensive lineman Carius Curne has committed to Ole Miss, per a report from On3.

Curne was LSU’s most promising OL it had on roster last season. He started games at both left and right tackle and ended up playing in seven games. Per the 247Sports Composite, Curne was one of the offensive linemen transfers in the portal.

Ole Miss running back staying put in Oxford

Ever since Lane Kiffin took the LSU football job, there’s been a lot of conjecture about him eventually bringing over standout running back Kewan Lacy with him to Baton Rouge. It’s appears that option is off the table.

ESPN is reporting that Lacy as resigned with Ole Miss and will play 2026 in Oxford, not anywhere else.

Old Dominion WR Tre Brown commits to LSU football

Make it two wide receivers out of the transfer portal for Lane Kiffin and company. Old Dominion wideout Tre Brown has committed to LSU, according to On3. Brown had been on a visit to Baton Rouge.

Brown has two years of eligibility left. In 2025 for the Monarchs, he managed 38 receptions for 762 yards with four scores. He averaged more than 20 yards per catch. Ohio State was also recruiting Brown out of the portal.

LSU football kicker Aeron Burrell enters transfer portal

LSU’s kickoff specialist Aeron Burrell has entered the transfer portal, per multiple reports. Burrell is the first specialist to decide to leave the program this offseason.

With the graduation of Damian Ramos, LSU is in need of a kicker. So the expectation is Lane Kiffin will be hunting a kicker for his first roster in Baton Rouge out of the portal.

LSU football reserve DL enters transfer portal

The need for defensive linemen was already there for LSU. And now the need gets stronger as freshman defensive lineman Zion Williams entered the transfer portal, according to an On3 report.

Williams played in five games for the Tigers in 2025 but he did not record a tackle.

Pitt transfer Malachi Thomas signs with LSU football

More rebuilding on offense continues for Lane Kiffin and company as they signed Pitt transfer tight end Malachi Thomas Monday, On3 reports. Thomas visited Baton Rouge over the weekend.

Thomas was in line to be Pitt’s starting tight end in 2026, but opted to enter his name in the transfer portal. He ultimately ended up with the Tigers — in a spot where the starting role is wrapped up with Trey’Dez Green, but depth is needed.

Last season, the 6-4, 220-pounder hauled in 13 passes for 192 yards along with a pair of touchdowns for the Panthers.

Lane Kiffin, LSU sign Utah transfer RB Raycine Guillory

Per On3, LSU has signed Utah freshman transfer running back Raycine Guillory on Monday. This marked the second pull from the transfer portal for Kiffin and his coaching staff since the window opened last Friday.

Guillory redshirted for the Utes this past season. He was a three-star prospect coming out of high school in 2025.

Sam Leavitt expected to visit LSU football Monday

Arizona State transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt is reportedly expected to visit LSU this afternoon, per multiple reports.

Leavitt is one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal and LSU is in dire need of a signal caller. Leavitt has been the quarterback for the Sun Devils the last couple of seasons, helping lead the resurgence of that program on the field. ASU made the College Football Playoff two seasons ago.

Former LSU football DL Ahmad Breaux commits to Kentucky

Former LSU defensive tackle Ahmad Breaux has committed to Kentucky and remained in the SEC.

Breaux has two years of eligibility remaining. Over his two seasons in Baton Rouge, he recorded 36 total tackles.

LSU football losing freshman wide receiver to transfer portal

Freshman wide receiver TaRon Francis plans to enter the transfer portal, per On3.

He was a former four-star recruit during last recruiting cycle and did not appear in any games for LSU in 2025.

Former LSU football OL Coen Echols commits to Texas A&M

Former LSU offensive lineman Coen Echols has committed to Texas A&M, remaining in the SEC. Echols started several games for the Tigers this season.

He has three years of eligibility left.

Boise State safety Ty Benefield visits LSU football

LSU football hosted Boise State junior safety transfer Ty Benefield Sunday. He is one of the top safeties in the transfer portal.

At Boise State, Benefield was an all-conference player in 2025. Benefield piled up 105 tackles with two picks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery for the Broncos.

LSU football hosting Old Dominion wide receiver

Per On3, LSU is hosting Old Dominion wide receiver transfer Tre Brown on Sunday and Monday. Ohio State is also in the mix for the receiver’s services and will host him following his visit to Baton Rouge.

As things stand, LSU’s roster is very much in flux as a lot of wide receivers have either entered their name into the 2026 NFL Draft or are in the transfer portal themselves.

So, Harris fits in well as there’s little depth at the position right now for the Tigers. But he fits exactly what Kiffin and his offensive staff were looking for out of the portal, so Harris should be in line to compete for playing time right away in Baton Rouge.

Tamarcus Cooley to return to LSU football

The sense surrounding sophomore safety Tamarcus Cooley after the end of the season was that he’d be back with LSU next season. That sense is now a reality as LSU announced Sunday that Cooley will run it back with the Tigers under Lane Kiffin next season.

In his first season with LSU in 2025, Cooley finished with 72 tackles and two interceptions.

LSU football in running for Florida transfer defensive back

Florida defensive back transfer Jordan Castell is down to three schools and LSU is among them, according to On3. LSU is battling Ole Miss and Kentucky for Castell and he plans to visit all three schools starting with Ole Miss Sunday, followed by Kentucky Monday before heading to Baton Rouge Jan. 8.

Castell has started 34 straight games for the Gators and had 168 career tackles.

Michael Van Buren to enter transfer portal

LSU quarterback Michael Van Buren plans to enter the transfer portal, On3 reports.

Van Buren told reporters following the Texas Bowl that he and Lane Kiffin have had conversations and that he believed that they were in a good place. During the season, the quarterback said that he believed he had a future in Baton Rouge despite the then looming coaching change.

He started the final four games for LSU while senior Garrett Nussmeier sat out due to an injury, and he threw for 1,010 yards, eight touchdowns with two interceptions.

Kansas State transfer WR Jayce Brown plans to visit LSU football

Kansas State transfer wide receiver Jayce Brown has LSU among six schools he plans to visit over the coming days, according to On3. Brown is also looking at Georgia, Ole Miss, Auburn, Kentucky and Louisville for visits.

Brown has 1,233 career receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

LSU football to host Clemson transfer Stephiylan Green

LSU is in the market for defensive linemen, and Kiffin and company are bringing in some of the best talent in the transfer portal at those positions.

Clemson defensive lineman Stephiylan Green is planning to be in Baton Rouge to check out Kiffin’s program Sunday and Monday, On3 reports. Green has started six games over his two years at Clemson.

Florida transfer Eugene Wilson set to visit LSU football

Texas A&M will get him to visit first, but LSU football will host Florida transfer wide out Eugene Wilson over the coming days, On3 reports. Wilson will likely be in Baton Rouge the beginning of next week.

In three years with the Gators, the playmaker has amassed 1,043 yards on 107 receptions with 10 scores.

Caden Durham enters transfer portal

LSU loses one of its top running backs in Caden Durham as he has entered the transfer portal.

This move was anticipated as freshman Harlem Berry, who is returning to Baton Rouge, overtook the sophomore for the starting running back role for the second half of the 2025 season. Also, his former position coach, Frank Wilson, is now on staff at Ole Miss.

Durham finished the season with 111 carries for 505 yards and three touchdowns.

LSU football to host running back transfer

California-Davis sophomore tailback transfer Carter Vargas is taking a visit to LSU Saturday. Depth at running back is thin for the Tigers with little experience, and Vargas is one of top targets currently in the portal.

This past season, Vargas rushed for five touchdowns along with 445 yards on 67 carries.

Trey’Dez Green agrees to new deal with LSU football

LSU won’t have to be in the market for a tight end this transfer portal window. Sophomore standout Trey’Dez Green will remain with the Tigers as he and LSU have agreed to a new deal that’ll keep him n Baton Rouge.

Green is a massive red zone target and has blossomed over just two seasons at LSU. He caught 33 passes for 433 yards and seven scores in 2025.

LSU football in running for top defensive transfer from Penn State

On3’s Steve Wiltfong reports that LSU is one of the early leading candidates to possibly land Penn State edge rusher transfer Chaz Coleman. Ohio State and Tennessee are also in the mix.

Currently, Coleman is the top rated defensive end in the transfer portal according to the 247Sports Composite and the No. 2 overall player available.

“It sounds like It’s LSU and Tennessee that are the programs emerging as the price tag continues to go up for Chaz Coleman in the initial discussions for his signature and an opportunity,” Wiltfong said.

LSU football looks to land visit from NC State transfer

Soon after LSU wide receiver Zavion Thomas announced he was entering his name into the 2026 NFL Draft, reports surfaced of LSU trying to get North Carolina State transfer wide receiver Terrell Anderson in for a visit.

This season, Anderson put up 629 receiving yards on 39 catches with five touchdowns. Anderson has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Pair of LSU football transfers set to visit Kentucky

Per multiple reports, LSU transfers, offensive lineman Tyree Adams and defensive lineman Ahmad Breaux, are planning to take a visit to Kentucky.

On3 reports that Breaux is also locking in a visit to Mississippi State as well.

Adams was a multi-year starter at left tackle for LSU but missed time this season with an ankle injury and subsequent surgery for the high-ankle sprain. Breaux played in 12 games during his sophomore season in 2025, collecting 19 tackles, including 2.5 tackles-for-loss and 0.5 sacks.

LSU football ‘in contact’ with McNeese State transfer

Veteran McNeese State cornerback Javon Davis has been “in contact” with LSU football, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot, 183-pound defensive back has more than 30 career starts, which he’s been a starter across four seasons at McNeese.

Davis has three interceptions, all of which came this season, along with 116 tackles, including 2.5 sacks.

LSU has multiple starters returning at cornerback, but depth behind P.J. Woodland and freshman D.J. Pickett is slim outside of Ja’Keem Jackson.

Brendan Sorsby to visit LSU football

The top rated quarterback currently in the transfer portal, Cincinnati senior Brendan Sorsby, is planning to take a visit to LSU, per ESPN. He is expected to be in Baton Rouge sometime this weekend.

Sorsby has thrown for more than 7,000 yards in his career with 60 touchdowns. This past season at Cincinnati, he passed for 2,800 yards, 36 TDs while adding 580 yards on the ground.

Kiffin needs a quarterback for his first roster at LSU in a bad way, and he’ll be heavily involved with the best options in the transfer portal and that starts with Sorsby.

Iverson Hooks to visit LSU football

UAB transfer wide receiver Iverson Hooks will visit LSU Jan.7-8, according to an On3 report. LSU is one of seven schools that Hooks plans to visit while in the transfer portal.

The sophomore wide out was the Blazer’s best offensive option, catching 72 passes for 927 yards and seven touchdowns.

LSU’s top four wide receivers from 2025 are departing the team whether it be through the transfer portal or entering their name into the 2026 NFL Draft.

When does transfer portal close

The NCAA transfer portal window closes on Jan. 16. Players cannot enter their name in the portal following that date. But those whose name is already in the transfer portal can still decide and sign with a new school after Jan. 16.
