LSU historically boasts one of the best home-field advantages in all of college football. Tiger Stadium fills to the brim with passionate fans who create a hostile environment for opposing teams and the Tigers take advantage of their home.

According to some work done by Yahya Hasan, LSU is one of three "Elite" teams in the S tier of FBS teams who benefit the most from playing at home. Ohio State and Alabama take up the other two spots in the tier. 21 teams follow in Tier A, which includes Texas,Texas A&M, Kentucky, Georgia and Ole Miss out of the SEC.

The five-tier system, which ranges from S to D, is based on points per game gained at home after accounting for opponent quality. The data used ranges from 2014-2025 regular season games. LSU faces off against some of the nation's best teams in its conference under its lights every year, and 2026 is no different.

The Crimson Tide and Longhorns come to Baton Rouge in November. By then, the SEC championship game and the College Football Playoff picture may have already taken shape. In its first year under head coach Lane Kiffin, LSU will look to put itself back into the national championship conversation, and it'll need to get past national contenders on its home field.
