Miami Hurricanes star Mark Fletcher Jr. was seen throwing a punch at an Indiana player after the College Football Playoff national championship game on Jan. 19 in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Fletcher, the starting running back for Miami, was caught on camera swinging at Indiana defensive lineman Tyrique Tucker in the immediate aftermath of Indiana’s 27-21 win in the title game, capping its undefeated season.

It is not clear what may have provoked Fletcher. As the two players appeared to begin to square off, a Miami assistant coach got in front of Fletcher and pushed him away from the confrontation.

Fletcher was available for comment after the game, but the incident was not made known until the postgame coverage on ESPN, shortly after Fletcher left the podium for his postgame comments.

Fletcher had 17 rushes for 112 yards and two touchdowns along with one catch for 8 yards in the game.

More to come on this developing story.
