Matt Rhule, Nebraska football win commitment of 4-star WR Khalil Taylor

Nebraska football is adding a crafty and speedy receiver to its 2027 recruiting class.

Khalil Taylor announced his commitment to the Cornhuskers on Monday, July 6. The four-star wide receiver is ranked as the No. 81 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class in the USA TODAY Composite Ranking and the No. 13 player at his position.

Taylor picked Nebraska over other finalists in Alabama, Colorado and Penn State. Taylor made an official visit to Lincoln, Nebraska, on June 19 to wrap his visits. He had visited the Nittany Lions on June 5.

He transferred to Pine-Richland ahead of his junior season, finishing with 33 catches for 571 yards and 16 touchdowns across 12 games. Defensively, he posted 22 tackles, three tackles for loss, four pass breakups, three interceptions and a sack. He also added six total returns on special teams for scores.

In his sophomore year in 2024, Taylor earned KDKA Super 7 2A Player of the Year honors after helping Seaton LaSalle to an 11-1 record and the WPIAL championship game. He finished the season with 51 catches for 932 yards and 22 touchdowns.

Taylor joins the 2027 Cornhuskers’ class, which top-50 four-star quarterback Trae Taylor headlines.
