Memphis football completes 2026 schedule with road game vs UNLV

Memphis football will face UNLV in Las Vegas in 2026 as part of a home-and-home series, the schools announced Jan. 15.

The game will take place on Aug. 29 at Allegiant Stadium. Game time has not been announced.

The Rebels will visit Memphis on Sept. 15, 2029.

For Memphis, the game against the Rebels replaces a game that had been scheduled against Arkansas. But the two schools agreed to move that game to 2030 after the SEC’s move to nine conference games meant the Razorbacks needed to lose one of their previously-scheduled non-conference games. That decision was made before coach Ryan Silverfield left Memphis for Arkansas.

Memphis and UNLV have never met in football.

Both teams project as potential College Football Playoff contenders. Memphis will be in its first season under Charles Huff, who came from Southern Miss to replace Silverfield. UNLV is coming off a 10-3 season and will be going into its second season under Dan Mullen.

Both teams have already undergone major roster changes through the transfer portal. The Rebels lost Mountain West offensive player of the year Anthony Colandrea to Nebraska, but Mullen brought in former Oklahoma and Auburn starter Jackson Arnold to replace him.

Huff is in the midst of a roster rebuild for the Tigers, and he’s brought in a pair of former four-star quarterbacks in West Florida transfer Marcus Stokes and South Carolina transfer Air Noland.

Memphis football 2026 non-conference schedule

The matchup against UNLV completes Memphis’ four-game non-conference schedule for 2026. The Tigers will travel to Boise, Idaho, to face Boise State and will host Arkansas State and UT Martin.

The American Conference has not yet released its schedule for 2026, but Memphis knows its eight opponents.

The Tigers will host UAB, Army, ECU and Temple and will travel to face Navy, USF, Tulane and Charlotte.
