For the first time in four years, Memphis football did not score at least 20 points in a game.

The Tigers (8-4, 4-4 American Conference) lost 28-17 to Navy (9-2, 7-1) on Nov. 27 at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. The Tigers had offensive success in the first half, but Navy’s offense took complete control of the game and had the ball for nearly the entire half.

Memphis’ offense couldn’t get anything going in the second half. It was the first time the Tigers hadn’t scored 20 points in a game since losing to Houston 31-13 on Nov. 19, 2021. They had done it in 51 consecutive games entering the matchup against Navy.

Memphis had one of the highest-scoring offenses in the conference in 2025, but lost three games in a row to finish 8-4. It had entered November at 8-1 and as the projected favorite to reach the College Football Playoff from the Group of Five, but those hopes evaporated after the losses to Tulane, ECU and Navy.

The Tigers will learn their bowl destination and opponent after the regular season ends.
