‘Messed up’ – Pittsburgh Steelers fans tear into DK Metcalf over ‘lame’ Instagram post

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf will be expected to apologise for his recent Instagram post after seemingly mocking a store worker.
Metcalf will have a huge role to play for the Steelers this season as quarterback Aaron Rodgers’s top target.
However, the 28-year-old is now receiving significant backlash from fans across the league following a post he made on his social media channels.
The former Ole Miss wideout departed the Seattle Seahawks for a new opportunity, but ultimately saw the Hawks lift the Super Bowl in February.
The grass has certainly not been greener in Pittsburgh for Metcalf, and his online comments have now left fans demanding he apologises to the store worker in question.
DK Metcalf lambasted over social media post mocking store worker
Metcalf, who has just agreed to a restructured deal, is renowned as one of the top physical specimens in the NFL.
‘However, that does not give him licence to publicly shame others using his massive online following.
Taking a photo of a store worker, Metcalf captioned the post: ‘The Build:,’ followed by, ‘God: Mhm Imma make a two waist build.’
Fans have naturally hit back over social media, with many questioning Metcalf’s intentions.
‘That’s an L for DK ngl. Making fun of people working is lame especially about their body shape,’ replied one fan on X.
‘Targeting a hardworking dude just because of how he looks is messed up,’ replied another.
It should not be forgotten that Metcalf missed the final two games of the 2025 season after putting his hands on a fan during the Steelers’ Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions.
One fan wished the Steelers still had George Pickens over Metcalf: ‘They told me GP was a problem tho. This guy is even worse.’
Another felt the same: ‘Takes a lot to make me miss Pickens, but picking Metcalf over him was an L.’
Metcalf’s stats have taken a real blow following his impressive early years up in Seattle, with the 2025 season returning just 850 yards and six touchdowns.
‘Wow I really can’t stand DK,’ one fan brutally replied.
Clearly, this post did not endear Metcalf with the fans in Pittsburgh: ‘He’s making fun of a random store employee? Lame.’
Returning from his suspension for the season-opener, it is apparent that Metcalf has a lot of making up to do in Pittsburgh.
