MIAMI, Fla. – As the No.3 Miami Hurricanes for an in-state rivalry clash against the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday, four-star interior offensive lineman Jatori Williams announced his decommitment from the Coral Gables program on Tuesday.
“This is a personal decision and does not reflect any disappointment with Miami or its coaching staff,” he said in a statement. “They have been great to me and my family every step of the way. They are elite. As we approach signing day in December, I want to give myself the opportunity to fully evaluate my options and make the best decision for my future.”

Williams is part of Central High School’s 2027 graduating class, a public institution located in Phenix City (AL). He initially committed close to home with the Crimson Tide on Sept. 29, 2025, but decommitted a couple of months later. After reopening his recruitment, Williams then joined the Hurricanes’ promising 2027 recruiting class – featuring five-stars Donte Wright (CB), A’mir Sears (ATH), Nick Lennear (WR), and Jaiden Bryant (DE).
Despite being ranked among interior offensive linemen, Williams primarily played at left tackle his junior year. However, he would likely play inside on the offensive line at the Power Four level with a listed 6-3 and 335-pound frame. Williams is ranked 114th nationally, eighth among interior recruits, and third in Alabama, according to 247Sports Composite.
The four-star high school talent has received a plethora of scholarship offers from powerhouse programs, including Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Florida State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Oregon.
Williams has just two visits listed since making the trip to the Coral Gables campus on June 5:
– Auburn: Sept. 19 (Unofficial)
– Kentucky: June 19 (Official)
The Hurricanes’ 2027 recruiting class currently stands at 20 commits. Meanwhile, Williams will kickstart his second reopened recruitment stint with four programs:
– Georgia (This weekend)
– Alabama
– Auburn
– Florida State
Williams will make a final decision before National Signing Day, following each visit for what appears to be a final re-evaluation. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes are reportedly looking to flip Texas A&M commit and four-star linebacker Aston Whiteside. The Aggies are currently in the midst of an underwhelming 3-3 (SEC 1-3) season. In relation to another Texas A&M commit, five-star offensive tackle and current St. Thomas Aquinas student Mark Matthews still has contact with the Coral Gables program.
Williams remains open about the possibility of rejoining the Hurricanes’ elite 2027 recruiting class; however, that decision could take weeks. Meanwhile, head coach Mario Cristobal has led the program to a third consecutive 5-0 start, with a 7:00 p.m. E.T. kickoff scheduled against the Alabama native’s potential new pledge this Saturday. For some recruits, winning can make an impact on decisions. In Williams’ case, it’s to be determined as he further searches for answers on the best path for the future.
