Micah's game-by-game picks for Week 11 in Big Ten

This week in Big Ten football will not produce a full slate of nail-biters, but it offers a huge Iowa-Oregon game. Two teams will put their College Football Playoff hopes on the line. It will be clear what Oregon is made of after this week. USC has a great tune-up game for Iowa.

Here are my game-by-game picks for Week 11 in Big Ten football:

USC over Northwestern (Friday)

Northwestern will give USC a challenge, but with recent rumors surrounding Riley, he just may need a very convincing win. Northwestern has a good pass defense but an up-and-down passing offense. The Trojans need to impose their will just like they did versus Nebraska and Michigan. This team is way too talented to slip up against teams like Northwestern. USC will handle business in this one and get ready for a matchup versus Iowa.

Indiana over Penn State

Fernando Mendoza and the Hoosiers will roll again. This game won’t even be close as most Indiana Hoosiers games aren’t.

Ohio State over Purdue

Purdue stands no chance in this game. This game will only be benefit to Julian Sayin’s heisman campaign. Expect Sayin and his weapons to light it up and the Buckeyes to cruise to another lopsided victory.

Maryland over Rutgers

Both teams share similar weaknesses, but Malik Washington will be the X factor. He is good enough to win this game for the Terrapins. Maryland is coming off of 4 straight losses and a poor showing against Indiana. What better team for a bounce-back game than Rutgers. Rutgers can not put games away and their defense is suspect, so the Terrapins should be able to take advantage of this golden opportunity for a win.

Oregon over Iowa

Iowa will be a tough challenge for Oregon. This defense for the Hawkeyes will force Dante Moore to win this game. Iowa has the defense to limit the rushing attack for Oregon. It should come as no surprise if Iowa wins this game. Iowa has the best offensive line in the country and with Mark  Gronowski making plays Oregon will have to dig deep to win this football game. Oregon is the better team, and I think they will ultimately come out on top, but this game will go all the way down until the clock hits zero.

Washington over Wisconsin

Demond Williams will put up a clinic passing performance against the Badgers. Wisconsin is waiting for this season to be over, and the Huskies are looking to remain in the College Football Playoff. Another blowout loss is in store for Wisconsin on Saturday.

Nebraska over UCLA

TJ Lateef showed some promise in last week’s loss when he was called to action. With a full week to prepare, I think he can have success versus UCLA’s defense that can’t stop anyone. Not to mention, Lateef also has Emmett Johnson on his side, who will more than likely have a big run game. This game will be close, but I still believe Nebraska has enough talent to come out on top versus an overachieving Bruins.
