In an email sent out by Michigan Athletics, two theme nights for the upcoming Michigan football season were revealed.

The Wolverines will have a “Maize Out” at Michigan Stadium on September 12th against Oklahoma and a “Stripe Out” versus Iowa on September 26.

Per Michigan Athletics’ email’

“An exciting slate of theme games is coming to Michigan Stadium this fall. After our home opener vs. Western Michigan on September 5, the Wolverines square off with Oklahoma in an early-season MAIZE OUT matchup of Big Ten vs. SEC on Saturday, September 12 at noon on Fox. 2026 also marks the return of the STRIPE OUT, which will take place on Saturday, September 26 vs. Iowa.”

Michigan will have their work cut out for them against Oklahoma in the Maize Out, a team they lost to on the road last season by a score of 24-13 in Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood’s first career start. Oklahoma has never played at Michigan Stadium.

The Wolverines have won the last four tilts against Iowa, dating back to 2019. The last time Iowa played at Michigan Stadium was back in 2019, a 10-3 Michigan win. Michigan has a 23-6-3 home record versus Iowa.
