Michigan football officially pulled off a recruiting flip that had been bubbling below the surface in recent weeks.

Aden Reeder, a three-star class of 2026 linebacker out of Cincinnati (St. Xavier), has committed to join the Wolverines. He previously committed to Wisconsin on May 12 but after the Badgers’ struggles the Wolverines apparently saw an opening.

U-M offered Reeder a scholarship on Oct. 21, then he took an official visit to Ann Arbor on Nov. 1 for Michigan’s 21-16 night game victory over Wisconsin. Two days later, on Nov. 3, he decided to re-open his recruiting process, which lasted three days before he pledged to Michigan.

“I’m home! Go blue!!!” he posted Thursday, Nov. 6 on social media.

Reeder is ranked the No. 27 player in Ohio, No. 40 linebacker in the country and No. 555 overall regardless of position, per 247Sports composite rankings.

He’s now the 22nd commitment in U-M’s class of 2026, which ranks No. 10 in the nation. He joins three-star Markel Dabney as the only two linebacker commits in the class.
