The Michigan football program has made another addition to its support staff ahead of the 2026 season, making the hire of Chief of Staff Alayna Williamson official on Monday afternoon.

Williamson comes to Michigan after serving the same role under head coach Kyle Whittingham at Utah starting in 2024. Her hire continues a trend of additions of both on-field and administrative staff from Utah since Whittingham’s hire in December.

Prior to serving as Utah’s chief of staff, Williamson worked for the University of Utah in a variety of roles, including as the director of undergraduate admissions and scholarships from 2020-24. She was also the director of business scholars from 2015-24. She is a graduate of the University of Utah as well.

As Michigan’s new chief of staff, she will be assisting in overseeing the program’s operations and working with athletes to grow their professional networks while supporting their academic success.
