Michigan football and Kyle Whittingham aren't joking around.

While the new staff works diligently in spring ball to install the new offense and defense, the new-look recruiting department is also getting into the mix. Last week, the Wolverines hosted a five-star in California-based defensive tackle Marcus Fakatou. On Thursday, another top target appears to be on campus.

Even with the previous staff, 2027 Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel four-star wide receiver Quentin Burrell was a priority, but the new staff has worked hard to get into the mix. And he posted on Thursday that he's back on campus, meeting with Micah Simon and Marques Hagans and company.

Burrell is rated highest on ESPN, where he's the No. 43 player in the country, regardless of position. Listed at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, Notre Dame is considered the team to beat, as On3 reporter Mike Singer put in a prediction for the Irish in October 2025. However, with the new Michigan football staff surging for Burrell, that could flip the maize and blue's way at any time.

In the past two years, Burrell has accumulated nearly 2,400 receiving yards on 142 catches. He has 34 receiving touchdowns between his sophomore and junior seasons.
