Buford High School in Georgia has long been a powerhouse program, putting players into top colleges as well as the NFL throughout the years. Michigan football has often had players from Buford, including last year's starting running back Justice Haynes and fellow former Wolverines running back Christian Turner. Now, the maize and blue are hoping for another, though he's more like Turner than Haynes as it pertains to his star rating.

2027 Buford (Ga.) three-star linebacker Ethan Hauser dropped his top five on Sunday, and Michigan football made the cut. But so, too, have Missouri, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt.

Hauser might not be a household name, but he's got a lot of fanfare from recruitniks who have watched his film. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound linebacker has a lot of fans across the college recruiting world, given his size, ability, and nose for the football.

Hauser is rated a three-star, listed as the No. 613 player in the country according to the Rivals Industry Ranking. According to Rivals, Michigan and Vanderbilt are his top two: (subscription required)

“Michigan and Vanderbilt are the top two,” he said. “Michigan has the history and legacy. I had a great time up there this spring. My family loved it, I loved it — it’s a place I can see myself. It’s a great stage for me to reach my goal of the NFL too. They are definitely high on my list.”

Michigan is set for his final official visit, and he intends to commit in the summer, but there's no set timeline.
