Michigan football enters Labor Day shifting its focus to Oklahoma. All while the rest of the nation calls out the Wolverines over their controversial finish against Western Michigan. Quarterback Bryce Underwood overhears the criticism too involving how he played up until that last second from Saturday.
Now Underwood faces the biggest question of his young collegiate career: Should he immediately get placed on the hot seat?
He’s officially one of the nation’ most scrutinized quarterbacks heading into week two. Underwood and “clockgate” rise as the biggest CFB topic this week. Especially as he soon faces, arguably, the SEC’s best front seven on defense in the Sooners ahead of Saturday.

Longtime college football pundit and co-host of “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd Jason McIntyre weighed in. McIntyre believes people inside and around “The Big House” have thrown in the towel for Underwood.
“Fans have had it with Underwood already,” McIntyre said, while adding “he wasn’t great last year.”
He later called Underwood “an abject failure” against the Broncos by citing his two early turnovers. McIntyre even called out how Underwood struggled to move the ball against WMU, failing to reach Broncos territory in the second and third quarter.
“Underwood was awful. His reads were terrible and then buddy wins on a Hail Mary,” McIntyre said.

So McIntyre is no longer buying the Underwood hype. Even stating that he’s received phone calls that Tommy Carr should take the starter reins.
“Fans have had it with Underwood already,” McIntyre said.
However, head coach Kyle Whittingham sounds committed to Underwood saying “he’s our QB right now.”
Still, McIntyre believes Michigan needs a jolt behind center for the Wolverines’ toughest non-Big Ten foe.
