Given that Michigan football is facing a 2-6 team in Purdue, it's difficult to call it a big game. However, it has the look of being a big game — in prime time, and also (apparently) the uniform combo.
The Wolverines tend to tailor their uniform combination to the hype of the opponent and the matchup. However, perhaps having few opportunities at home this year (with only six games at The Big House), the maize and blue have decided that they are going for an all-blue look against the Boilermakers. The team announced the decision to wear the 'big game blues' on Friday afternoon.

Generally, the 'big game blues' are reserved for teams like Ohio State, Texas, or Penn State. So it's a bit odd to see the Wolverines opt for this look against a team that has yet to win a game in the Big Ten. Michigan last wore the 'big game blues' just a few weeks ago vs. Wisconsin. So, the maize and blue wore the traditional uniform for the New Mexico, Central Michigan, and Washington games, and had alternates for the other two games. It will be interesting to see what the Wolverines choose to wear vs. the Buckeyes in Week 14.
Not to mention that Michigan is a 21-point favorite in the matchup, according to BetMGM, one of the biggest point spreads of the year for the Wolverines.
Michigan and Purdue will match up at 7:10 p.m. EDT at The Big House, with the game set to be aired on Big Ten Network.
