A night kickoff at Ford Field is on tap for Michigan State football’s final game of the 2025 season.
The Spartans will face Maryland at 7 p.m. on Nov. 29 (FS1) in Detroit at the home of the Lions to wrap up Jonathan Smith’s second season.
MSU (3-7, 0-7 Big Ten) has all but eliminated from bowl contention heading into Saturday’s game at Iowa (6-4, 4-3) that starts at 3:35 p.m. (FS1). A loss to the Hawkeyes would prevent the Spartans from any five-win scenarios and assure their fifth season in the past six without a bowl berth. Their last postseason trip was a 2021 Peach Bowl win over Pitt.
Maryland (4-6, 1-6) hosts No. 17 Michigan at 4 p.m. Saturday in College Park, Maryland, on Big Ten Network.
The game against the Terrapins will be considered a home game for MSU, which also closed the 2023 season at Ford Field with a 42-0 loss to Penn State. In their only other game at Ford Field, the Spartans defeated Florida Atlantic, 30-17, on Sept. 11, 2010. That was part of a home-and-home deal moved to Detroit when the Owls’ home stadium had not yet been completed.
