Michigan State football fell to Penn State on Saturday afternoon, 28-10, dropping their seventh straight game and falling to 3-7 on the year.
In the game, the Spartans defense played hard and strong for three quarters of action, but in the fourth, the body blows caught up to them. Penn State had more offense in the fourth quarter than they had in the previous three quarters.
Overall, the Spartans defense showed that it is continuing to improve week after week, and whatever Joe Rossi is doing is working. Despite some obvious talent deficiencies, the team shows up to play every week.
After looking at the film, and evaluating the game, Pro Football Focus (Subscription Required) gave out their grades for the Spartans in the game.
Here are the top five defensive players in the game:
DT Jalen Satchell – 81.0
DT Grady Kelly – 78.3
DE David Santiago – 73.2
LB Wayne Matthews – 72.5
DE Jalen Thompson – 71.2
