Former Michigan running back Jasper Parker has committed to Arkansas, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. He made six appearances as a true freshman at Michigan this past season.

In his limited action, Parker recorded 93 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 25 carries. Ahead of his debut campaign, Parker received high praise from Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford.

“I mean, extremely outstanding player,” Alford said of Parker. “He’s a big, strong, physical kid. He’s got really good vision. One of the things — he’s a little taller than most of those guys in that room, but he has the ability to kind of sink his hips into contact and plays behind his pads really well. He’s elusive, and he’s got really, really good vision.”

Jasper Parker played high school football at Archbishop Shaw (LA), where he was a four-star prospect. Parker was the No. 287 overall prospect and No. 20 running back in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Rankings.

He is the eighth player who has committed to Arkansas via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. Parker isn’t the only transfer running back who is heading to Arkansas. Former Memphis RB Sutton Smith committed to the Razorbacks on Monday.

As of this report, Smith is one of four former Memphis players who are following head coach Ryan Silverfield to Arkansas. The school hired Silverfield on Nov. 30 to replace former HC Sam Pittman.

Silverfield spent seven seasons at the helm of Memphis. He led the Tigers to a 50-25 overall record and a 27-21 mark in conference play. For much of this past season, Memphis in contention for the College Football Playoff Group-of-Five bid.

However, the Tigers tumbled in the final stretch of the regular season, losing their final three games. Silverfield is excited to build a winning tradition at Arkansas.

“This is a state not built on shortcuts or flash. It is built on early mornings, people that don’t make excuses and communities that fight for each other,” Silverfield said at his introductory press conference. “From Frank Broyles’ national championship team to the 1964 squad that set the standard, from Darren McFadden electrifying fans to Woo Pig Sooie throughout the Ozarks.

“This program is built on pride, resilience and toughness, and it’s time to bring it all back. … How do we earn it? How do we win an SEC championship, or championships? How do we win a national title? We have to earn it. We have to empty the tank. We have to attack the work.”
