Texas A&M responded quickly to a major loss on Sunday by securing the commitment of a former Alabama wide receiver and SEC wideout from the NCAA transfer portal.
The Aggies got Isaiah Horton to commit to their program shortly after they heard the news of former Auburn WR Cam Coleman’s commitment decision.
Horton, who led the Crimson Tide in touchdown catches this past season, will join the Aggies ahead of the 2026 season.
The move came shortly after fellow SEC wideout Coleman committed to the Texas Longhorns in a swing that delivered a huge blow to A&M, which had long been considered the favorite to land him.

Coleman had previously been committed to Texas A&M before flipping to Auburn following Jimbo Fisherâs dismissal in 2023. The Aggies remained in contention to land him out of the portal until Texas won out.
Coleman had 708 receiving yards and five touchdowns for Auburn in 2025. He was the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2024 class, and his move to the Longhorns marks a tough loss for the Aggies.
A&M suffered a late-season collapse, which included a regular-season defeat to Texas. They will have the help of a top wideout next season in Horton, however, as the former Crimson Tide receiver appeared in all 15 games last season, starting 11, and catching 42 passes for 511 yards. He also led Alabama with eight touchdowns.
Before spending the 2025 season in Alabama, Horton had already played three seasons at Miami, starting six games of the 29 he played and totaling 56 catches and 616 yards during his 2024 campaign alone, his best with the Hurricanes.
Landing Horton gives head coach Mike Elkoâs staff a proven, SEC-experienced playmaker with two productive stops already on his rĂ©sumĂ©. He enters his stint with the Aggies with 112 career catches, 1,301 receiving yards, and 14 touchdowns across four seasons in Miami and Alabama.
âI think itâs made massive strides,â Elko said about the state of the program after A&Mâs first-ever College Football Playoff appearance.
At the time of his commitment to the Aggies, Horton ranks as the No. 9 wide receiver in On3âs 2026 transfer portal player rankings.
Texas A&M will open the 2026 season coming off an 11â2 campaign and its first CFP berth in program history.
