Mike Norvell, Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White recap Alabama loss, turn the page to Central Arkansas

Mike Norvell, Tim Harris Jr. and Tony White met with local media after Saturday’s 50-36 loss at Alabama.
The Seminoles are 1-2. They led 21-6 in Tuscaloosa. Alabama scored on nine straight possessions after that. FSU has now lost 10 straight on the road dating back to 2024. Central Arkansas — which is actually Norvell’s alma mater — is next on the schedule, Saturday at 3 p.m. at Doak Campbell Stadium.
Norvell
On two straight games allowing 550-plus yards:
“I know what we’re teaching is sound, I know what we’re asking guys to do, but it doesn’t…look that way when you turn on the film.”
On whether the defensive issues sit on the players:
“None of it is solely on players. It always comes down to the things coaches and what we do putting players in the right position.”
On Ashton Daniels in Bryant-Denny Stadium:
“There’s not a lot of quarterbacks in the history of college football that have gone into that stadium and played the way he played. … I was really proud of him for that.”
On Daniels’ turnovers:
“We don’t want to turn the ball over, but I thought he played at a very high level.”
On the offensive line combination:
“I thought those guys battled and did well.”
On Samuel Singleton Jr.:
“Sam Singleton will miss an extended period of time. … We’re hopeful for a return within (this) season.”
Tim Harris Jr.
On Tre Wisner with Singleton out:
“He’s going to be ready to take the opportunities that he’s going to get. … We feel like we have a veteran kid who’s waiting in the wings.”
On the second half and how Alabama executed:
“It starts with me first. It’s my fault. I should have stayed aggressive. I’ve just got to be really critical of myself.”
Tony White
On the last drive:
“That last drive really bugged me.”
“I should’ve stayed aggressive. … I should’ve stayed attacking.”
White said they will look at better packages — possibly heavier packages — in four-minute situations. He also said he should have run Cover 0 instead of one-high on that last drive.
On confidence in the defense:
“It has nothing to do with confidence, it’s all about the process.”
On Kevin Wynn:
“He’s in different packages now. He’s starting to emerge.”
