STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football’s top transfer target Jordan Seaton is no longer visiting Oregon, according to a report from 247Sports on Jan. 20.

Seaton, an offensive tackle from Colorado, is ranked as the No. 1 non-quarterback in the transfer portal by 247Sports.

His first visit upon entering the transfer portal was to Mississippi State. He’s also visited Miami and LSU. Seaton was reportedly scheduled to visit Oregon after LSU, though the report states Oregon is still in contention for him.

The only players ranked ahead of Seaton in the portal are quarterbacks Sam Leavitt, Brendan Sorsby and Drew Mestemaker.

Seaton will be junior in 2026 after two standout seasons at Colorado. In 2024, he made 13 starts and was an All-Big 12 honorable mention. This season, he started nine games before suffering an injury but was still an All-Big 12 second-team selection.

The 6-foot-5, 330-pound Seaton was the No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He played at IMG Academy in Florida but is from Washington D.C.

The Bulldogs have a connection to Seaton through offensive line coach Phil Loadholt. He was Colorado’s offensive line coach in 2024, Seaton’s freshman season, before being hired for the same position at MSU.

Mississippi State OL Jayvin Q. James enters transfer portal

Also on Jan. 20, MSU offensive tackle Jayvin Q. James entered the transfer portal. He started the final 12 games of the season after Blake Steen’s season-ending injury in Week 1.

James is the eighth MSU offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal. The Bulldogs have signed seven offensive linemen in the transfer portal, but none of them were starters in 2025.

James transferring means Steen and center Canon Boone are the only offensive lineman slated to return who started a game in 2025.
