Make that two of the top-ranked recruits from the state of Missouri now verbally committed to come to Columbia in 2027.
Mizzou football landed highly ranked wide receiver Chris Harris Jr. out Lee’s Summit West High on Tuesday, March 17, just a few hours after picking up the state’s top-ranked recruit in the Class of 2027. Missouri also added four-star tight end Jack Brown out of Francis Howell High in St. Charles, Missouri, earlier Tuesday.
The wide receiver reposted the initial report from On3/Rivals recruiting insider Hayes Fawcett on social media to confirm his commitment.
Harris is a four-star prospect in 247Sports’ composite national rankings for the 2027 class, where he also is rated as the No. 4 player in Missouri in this recruiting cycle. He is rated as the No. 341 player nationally.

According to Fawcett, Harris chose Mizzou over Alabama, Kansas State and Oklahoma State.
While it’s still early in the recruiting cycle for the 2027 class, Mizzou is now ranked No. 19 nationally with five commitments.
Missouri also has verbal pledges from three-star quarterback Braylen Warren, three-star offensive tackle Lual Aleu and three-star East St. Louis safety Jabarri Lofton in the 2027 class.
The Tigers are one of just five teams in the SEC with five or more commitments in the Class of 2027 at this stage, and Eli Drinkwitz’s class currently is rated at No. 5 in the conference, behind only Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Georgia and Texas.
