NORMAN, Okla. — It appears to be Beau time.
During a pregame interview on SEC Nation on SEC Network, Missouri football head coach Eli Drinkwitz confirmed that starting quarterback Beau Pribula is in line to return to his role as QB1 against Oklahoma on Saturday, Nov. 22, after missing the past two full matchups with a dislocated ankle.
Drinkwitz took part in the interview from the field at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium while Pribula ran sideline to sideline during warmups behind him.
“He’s gonna start,” Drinkwitz said. “He had an unbelievable week. Really, really impressed with him and his work ethic and commitment to our team. It would be really easy to not do it. To just say, ‘Hey, I’m gonna keep sitting out,’ but he wants to play. I anticipate it’s gonna give us a lot of energy, and I’m excited about watching him play. We’ll have Matt (Zollers) ready if something happens. And if he’s (Pribula) not full speed, 100%, the Matt will be ready to roll.”

Pribula sustained the ankle injury during the third quarter of Missouri’s loss to Vanderbilt on Oct. 25. He was carted to a wheelchair on the sideline and put in an air cast.
But, the York, Pennsylvania, native never sustained a fracture, which is rare for an ankle dislocation. He missed the Tigers’ games against Texas A&M (Nov. 8) and Mississippi State (Nov. 15), and true freshman Matt Zollers made the first two starts of his MU career.
The Tigers never set an official timetable for a return for Pribula, but the typical recovery period for his injury designation still made it unlikely he would return in the regular season.
But, he is in line to start in Norman, four weeks to the day since the injury.
Pribula was doubtful on every pregame Mizzou report ahead of the Tigers’ win over Mississippi State this past Saturday, and even came out for early pregame warmups, running through non-contact drills on Faurot Field without any visible aid on his ankle or clear limitation to his movement.
He debuted on Mizzou’s Wednesday report as ‘doubtful’ before being upgraded to ‘questionable’ on Thursday and fully cleared to play Friday. There were no changes on Mizzou’s final pregame report, as wide receiver/punt returner DaMarion Fowlkes and defensive tackle Elias Williams were the only new additions who will miss Saturday’s game.
The Tigers (7-3, 3-3 SEC) are scheduled to kick off against Oklahoma (8-2, 4-2) at 11 a.m. Saturday. The game will air on ABC.
That will be with Pribula leading the offense out for its first series.
“There’s no pitch count. We worked him back in last Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” Drinkwitz said. “We kept amping up the reps to see how his ankle would respond. Monday, Tuesday, amped it up. Wednesday was full go. And yesterday (Friday), he passed every test. Medical cleared him. So, we’re ready to roll.”
