STILLWATER — Oklahoma State football senior safety Mose Phillips III is expected to miss the remainder of the season, a school official confirmed Wednesday.

Phillips III suffered a shoulder injury in the Cowboys' win against UCF on Oct. 10 and missed last week's loss at Houston.

OSU is 4-0 this season in games Phillips III has started and 0-2 in games he hasn't started. Phillips III has made 23 tackles, fifth on the team. He intercepted a pass against West Virginia.

Phillips III transferred to OSU in the offseason after one season at Missouri and two seasons at Virginia Tech. Under the NCAA's new eligibility rules allowing for five seasons, Phillips will be able to play college football next year.

Senior safety Evan Jackson started last week in Phillips III's absence. OSU's secondary allowed a career-high 343 passing yards and five touchdowns to Houston quarterback Conner Weigman.

OSU (4-2 overall, 2-1 Big 12) hosts Colorado (2-4, 0-3) Saturday at 6 p.m. on FS1.
