Boise State wins 3rd straight championship.
The Broncos had a rocky road to the 2025 championship game, losing two conference games and relying on the computer metrics to reach the title contest. But once they started playing, they looked like vintage Boise State in the first half, jumping out to a 21-0 lead thanks to the strong play of returning QB Maddux Madsen. UNLV’s own quarterback, offensive POTW Anthony Colandrea, made his mark and gave life to the offense, but they couldn’t make enough plays. The Broncos have now won their third straight Mountain West Championship in their last season in the conference.
Is Nevada’s recruiting pitch helpful or harmful?
Coach Jeff Choate made waves on Friday when he stated his recruiting pitch to players was to come and play well so they could earn big paydays from transferring to bigger schools like Oregon. Some people criticized him for publicly acknowledging their status as a feeder school for P4 teams, while others praised him for his honesty and leaning in to who they are. Choate continued to go on, saying he values JUCO players who will work hard for their spot and getting players from the FCS level. But their new indoor practice facility is already making headway with recruits. When players do leave, he asks them for feedback in exit interviews.
Wyoming needs to find a way to turn the corner in football program.
Also, the Cowboys are trying to find a way to get over the hump in their program. They want to keep for championships in the new-look Mountain West, and that starts with solving the offensive issues that have long plagued the team. Hiring a strong offensive coordinator is the top priority, and one that Wyoming needs to get right if they want to have a chance to win.
