Michigan State football is joining a host of big-time schools that have offered a quickly rising defensive back prospect from the Windy City.

Darrell Mattison of Chicago announced on Tuesday that he's received an offer from Michigan State. Mattison posted on his social media X account to announce the offer from the Spartans, where he stated that Spartans head coach Pat Fitzgerald was the staff member that extended him the offer.

Mattison plays for Morgan Park High, and is listed at 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds, according to 247Sports. He is currently unrated on the recruiting site, but that surely will change based on the number of big-time schools that have recently offered him.

Michigan State is one of nearly 20 schools that have offered Mattison, according to 247Sports. He also holds offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Central Michigan, Miami (OH) and Toledo.
