MSU football lands commitment from local high-end 3-star OT prospect

Michigan State football opened up spring practice on Tuesday and added a pair of commitments for the 2027 class to go with it.
Jack Carlson of Brighton, Mich. announced his commitment to Michigan State on Tuesday afternoon, marking the second commitment of the day for the Spartans. Carlson made his commitment known by posting on his social media X account around 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
Carlson is listed as a high-end three-star offensive tackle, with a recruiting rating of 89 in 247Sports’ rating system. He ranks as the No. 36 offensive tackle and No. 7 player from Michigan in the 2027 class. He is also listed as the No. 470 overall prospect in the class.
Michigan State beat out the likes of Cincinnati, Northwestern, Bowling Green, Florida Atlantic, Central Michigan, Colorado State, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Liberty, Toledo and Kent State for his commitment.
Earlier in the day, Michigan State also picked up a commitment from three-star quarterback Eli Stumpf of Sunbury, Ohio. These two commitments push Michigan State up to four in the class of 2027.
