MSU football offers highly-ranked, in-state DL prospect

Michigan State football has extended an offer to an in-state defensive lineman with a ton of potential to be a top recruit in his class.

Kelaien Elem of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. announced on Wednesday that he's picked up an offer from the Spartans. Elem — who plays for powerhouse high school Brother Rice — made the offer from Michigan State known by posting on his social media X account.

Elem is listed as a three-star prospect, with a recruiting rating of 82.33 in Rivals' system. He ranks as the No. 54 defensive lineman and No. 13 player from Michigan in the 2028 class. He also is listed as the No. 573 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State joins an already long list of schools to show interesting the rising junior prospect. According to 247Sports, he now is up to nearly 10 offers from the likes of Penn State, Mississippi State, Kansas, Southern Miss, Colorado State and Kent State.
