Nation's No. 1 QB recruit commits to Georgia football

The Georgia Bulldogs have landed a commitment from four-star quarterback recruit Jayden Wade is the No. 1 player in the 2028 recruiting cycle, per 247Sports. Wade is Georgia‘s first commitment in the class of 2028.

Wade emphasized Georgia’s loyalty after announcing his commitment to Georgia. “It’s a winning program,” Wade said on Georgia. He said that he planned to announce his commitment to UGA at the beginning of the season. Wade describes himself as a “competitor” and a “winner”.

Jayden Wade committed to Georgia over Texas, Florida, Washington, Ohio State, Michigan and Oregon. The elite quarterback has visited Georgia several times this year. Wade has scholarship offers from Tennessee, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M and more of the nation’s best college football programs.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound quarterback plays high school football for IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Wade is from Los Angeles, California. Wade is only a sophomore in high school, but he’s already impressed many of the country’s best college football programs. Wade is the No. 1 quarterback and the top recruit in Florida in the class of 2028.

Wade is a dual-threat quarterback with good speed and a strong arm. He plays and practices against an elite level of high school competition. As a sophomore, Wade passed for 20 touchdowns and two interceptions. He added 243 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. In one of his top games this season, Wade completed 11 of 11 passes for 350 yards and had five total touchdowns.

Wade joins Georgia quarterback commitment Jared Curtis as the Bulldogs’ next quarterback of the future. Curtis, a member of the class of 2026, is one of the nation’s best recruits and is ranked as a five-star.
