One of the top recruits in the 2027 recruiting class is set to make his commitment really soon.

According to On3/Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett, five-star quarterback Elijah Haven is set to choose between Alabama and Georgia on Apr. 25. Those two SEC powerhouses are the final two teams left for his recruitment.

Haven is the top-ranked quarterback in the 2027 class and the No. 11 overall recruit in the country, per Rivals. He’s also the top-ranked quarterback and the No. 23 overall recruit in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Haven finished the 2025 high school season with 4,714 yards and 73 touchdowns, which is a state record for Louisiana.

He’d be a massive pickup for both Alabama and Georgia as each school tries to secure its quarterback of the future. Both schools are contenders to win the SEC and national title every year, and this year won’t be any different.

Georgia took home the SEC title over Alabama during the 2025 season, but both schools fell short of the national title after Indiana beat Miami.

This will be Kirby Smart‘s 11th season as Georgia’s head coach. He has led them to two national titles during his tenure and has an overall record of 117-21.

Kalen DeBoer has been the Alabama head coach for two seasons, compiling a 20-8 overall record. The 2026 season will be DeBoer’s third at the helm after coming over from Washington.

Let’s see which of the two coaches can secure a commitment from an elite recruit next Saturday.
