Keisean Henderson has yet to take a snap for the Houston Cougars, but the 18-year-old quarterback is already making headlines.
A five-star quarterback signee by Houston last year, Henderson announced a new Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) deal with Panini America on Tuesday, joining a growing group of elite college players who have also linked their names to the trading card company under the NCAA’s new NIL era.
Panini has signed several high-profile college athletes since NIL restrictions were lifted, including Texas quarterback Arch Manning, as well as Ohio State signal caller Julian Sayin and Alabama QB Keelon Russell.
Considered the best player in the nation in the 2026 recruiting class, Henderson spoke about what the partnership with Panini means for him on Tuesday.
“Partnering with Panini is a great opportunity for me,” Henderson said. “Seeing what they’ve done in the NIL space and with other athletes is very exciting, and I can’t wait to see my first Panini trading cards.”
The agreement comes just months after Henderson committed and enrolled early at Houston, where he’s expected to compete during spring practice ahead of the 2026 college football season.
The Cougars are coming off a 10–3 season, a Texas Bowl victory over Louisiana State, and are ranked seventh nationally in On3’s transfer portal team rankings for the current cycle.
Panini America’s senior vice president of marketing and athlete relations, Jason Howarth, praised Henderson’s addition to the company’s portfolio.
“We are excited to welcome Keisean to the Panini America family, he is both a dynamic player on the field and it has been fun to get to know him off the field, we look forward to working with and supporting him as he transitions to the collegiate level at the University of Houston,” Howarth said. “We think fans will really enjoy the trading cards we have planned for Keisean.”

Henderson, ranked as the No. 1 quarterback and overall recruit in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports’ Composite ranks, wrapped his high school career with over 9,000 passing yards and 98 touchdowns.
He was also named MVP of the 2025 Navy All-American Bowl and reached 3,880 yards and 45 touchdowns in his senior year alone.
According to On3, Henderson is still far from the top NIL earners across college sports, but already carries a $1 million NIL valuation entering the 2026 season and the No. 8 valuation among high schoolers.
