Nebraska commit named finalist for Defensive Player of the Year award

A class of 2026 Nebraska football commit was named a finalist for the Navy All-American Bowl Defensive Player of the Year award. Cornerback Danny Odem had a tremendous junior season, recording 45 tackles, two interceptions, three pass deflections, and a fumble recovery for First Academy in Florida.
Odem was also able to contribute five receptions for 40 yards. The Huskers will undoubtedly benefit from his playmaking ability and athleticism. The defensive back will undoubtedly be a starter sooner rather than later, and he could be a cornerstone of the secondary for years.
In the meantime, he is collecting additional accolades before he begins his time in Lincoln. The award show is scheduled for January 9, with the game scheduled for January 10.
The coroner has established himself as one of the best at the high school level, and now he has a chance to put the finishing touches on a great school career.
