Nebraska football adds two more coaches to staff

Nebraska announced two new coaches to the staff on Friday. Lonnie Teasley and Roy Manning join the Huskers' coaching staff, with Teasley becoming the run game coordinator and Manning earning the title of defensive edge coach.
Teasley joins Nebraska with 15 years of experience, spending time in the SEC and the NFL. Teasley also worked as an assistant offensive line coach on Rhule’s Temple staff in 2014. He joined the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff and assisted the offensive line for two seasons, before stopping at Tennessee Tech, Arkansas Pine-Bluff and North Carolina Central.
He's recently spent five seasons in South Carolina, including the past three as the Gamecocks’ offensive line coach. South Carolina's pipeline helped the offense finish with 2,703 passing yards and 1,333 rushing yards in 2025. Last year, the team averaged 223.5 passing yards and 184 rushing yards per game. South Carolina also averaged over 30 points per game while a pair of offensive linemen earned All-SEC honors.
Manning, meanwhile, follows defensive coordinator Rob Aurich to Nebraska as the defensive edge coach, after helping San Diego State become one of the nation’s top defenses. Manning also coached the Aztecs' defensive edge rushers this past season, helping the team lead the country with three shutouts, holding eight opponents to 10 or fewer points and averaging 12.5 points allowed per game.
San Diego State also finished the season with the fifth-best scoring defense in Mountain West history and the top scoring defense at San Diego State since 1976.
Prior to the Aztecs, Manning coached the cornerbacks at Oklahoma from 2019 to 2021 and spent one season as the outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at UCLA in 2018.
