Nebraska football received a major recruiting bump on Wednesday afternoon, as 2026 corner commit Danny Odem received a five-star rating from 247Sports. He is now the second overall corner in the class and the fourth overall player in his class from the state of Florida.
The Huskers were in on the corners' recruitment for quite some time. They extended an offer to Odem in February, and his stock has skyrocketed since then. He officially committed to the program on June 23 and most recently took an unofficial visit to Lincoln on October 25.
This recruitment is certainly a notch in the belt for defensive backs coach Addison Williams. Williams was the primary recruiter for Odem. The corner was only a three-star recruit when the program offered him, and Nebraska's belief in his development has paid off.
This is also a notch in the belt for Matt Rhule. Rhule has prided himself on finding and developing talent, and he did so here. Odem is now the third-highest rated recruit in the program's history.
We will have to see what Odem can do on the field at the collegiate level. Nevertheless, this is a notable achievement for the program, as recruiting momentum continues to build.
