The Nebraska Cornhuskers travel to Pasadena, California to face the UCLA Bruins in the Rose Bowl on Saturday night. The Huskers are 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten, coming off a 21-17 loss to USC last weekend, and will start true freshman quarterback TJ Lateef following a season-ending injury for Dylan Raiola.
UCLA is 3-5 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. The Bruins are led by interim coach Tim Skipper, who took over following UCLA’s 0-3 start to the year. The Bruins come in off a bye following a crushing 56-6 loss to Indiana.
Both sides are looking to bounce back from their losses while also trying to continue to improve their respective phases. UCLA and Nebraska show big struggles on defense, while finding some paydirt on offense. For the Huskers, their offense is at a crossroads with Raiola’s injury, making this matchup all the more critical for the season.
Nebraska fell to the Bruins in last year’s matchup and now faces them for 15th time in history. UCLA tied the series with its win last year and leads 4-2 in games played in Los Angeles or Pasadena.
