Nebraska freshman running back listed as doubtful for Maryland game

A Nebraska running back has been listed on the Big Ten injury report. Freshman Jamal Rule is listed as doubtful for the Huskers' Homecoming game against Maryland.

Rule has been Nebraska's leading running back this season. He has run the ball 42 times for 333 yards and 5 touchdowns.

The freshman suffered an injury during the Huskers' victory over the Michigan State Spartans. The running back finished with only four yards on four carries.

Rule was not the only prominent offensive name on the injury report. Wide receiver Jacory Barney was listed as questionable on Wednesday.

Saturday's game is the 115th Homecoming game in program history. The Huskers are 87-23-4 in Homecoming games and are 11-2 against Big Ten teams.

Saturday's game is only the fifth game between these two schools. Nebraska leads the all-time series 3-1.

Kickoff between Nebraska and Maryland is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and will air on FS1. Dan Hellie and Robert Smith will call the action at Memorial Stadium.
