Nebraska football extended an offer to one of the top young quarterbacks in the country. Lord Malik Heru is a class of 2029 quarterback from Indian River High School out of Chesapeake, Virginia.
Nebraska is the latest scholarship in what has become a growing offer sheet. Virginia Tech, South Carolina, SMU, Duke, and Pittsburgh have all made offers. Heru’s recruitment is certainly on the rise, and it seems like the Huskers are working to get in on this recruitment early.
The quarterback had a successful freshman season, with 1,279 yards, 13 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He was offered a scholarship after a conversation with quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas.
The class of 2029 is still a ways out, but nevertheless, it is smart to get in on quarterback recruitment this early. It will be interesting to see how Nebraska handles it moving forward.
